Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL)
Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers are a public statement of what constitutes teacher quality. Among many other important functions, these standards provide an essential guide for practitioners wishing to improve on their practice, in order to provide effective teaching that will achieve sound learning outcomes for all students. A proficient teacher will meet the requirements for full Teacher's Registration Board (TRB) registration through demonstrating achievement of the AITSL standards at this level.
The AITSL standards define teaching performance within four separate career stages, and have been split into three separate domains of teaching:
