Again my respectful approach won over this class. The mutual respect between us and behaviour management I established was well demonstrated by a very productive class computer research session. This was a VERY capable and self sufficient group however, their extreemly experienced teacher has set up many appealing ideas with them, some of which included:
-A small section on the white borard for students to check themselves out of the class when they needed to (only two at one time), imparting trust and responsibility.
-A completely unsupervised routine established for packing up chairs after assembly.
-An A3 'Attention!' chart suspended from the centre of the room, to attract students attention by a gesture rather than through noise.
-An awesome set of morning activities that imparted much general knowledge and lead to interesting discussion (a general knowledge quiz, a quote of the day, an amazing fact, and an 'on this day' record).
A great day, the only detractor being on reflection I was slightly unprepared for maths.
